Studio & Life Lately: October
A little update on the new studio, and my latest charity shop finds.
Hi Studio Mates,
It’s been a very busy couple of weeks, but I finally moved into the new studio! It genuinely feels like a new phase in my life and career, and I feel super inspired by this new step.
As I’m self-employed, and I’ve been doing most of this alone, it kind of feels like I moved out of my parents’ house into a student flat. Except for the fact that I’m a parent myself now, and the flat is my workspace. I think I’ll be spending a lot less time at the home, I love my new illustrator cave!

The new studio, that is situated along the IJ river, even has a little bathroom, which makes it somehow feel so homey. It’s very handy though, because I can totally imagine going for a swim when it’s summer, and taking a shower afterwards. I know, it sounds very romantic!
It’s only a short ferry ride away from my home, which might be the best thing about it. This will save me around an hour of biking a day. I love biking, but I’m so over arriving completely soaked from the rain at the studio. It will also allow me to pop in and out without wasting time, and I’m looking forward to spontaneously go to the studio whenever I want.
